REV. DR. KELLY BROWN DOUGLAS #BlackChurchHERSTORY

Dr. Douglas is  The Susan D. Morgan Professor and Director of Religion at Goucher College where she has held the Elizabeth Conolly Todd Distinguished Professorship. She also serves as Canon Theologian at the Washington National Cathedral.

A leading voice in the development of a womanist theology, Essence magazine counts Kelly “among this country’s most distinguished religious thinkers, teachers, ministers, and counselors.”  She has published numerous essays, articles and book chapters. Her books include The Black Christ,  Sexuality and the Black Church and What’s Faith Got to Do With It?Black Bodies/Christian Souls, Black Bodies and the Black Church: A Blues Slant.  Her most recent book is Stand Your Ground: Black Bodies and the Justice of God.
